Jerry Swaffield is an architect of elaborate collages, which he builds using a repository of original old photographs and subsequently reworks using pen, oil, and acrylic paints. THISDRAGONWASI is his largest collage work to date, and abides by the creative principles exhibited throughout his oeuvre. Traversing across many borders of Southeast Asia, the artist observes, experiences and hunts for photographs that document, record and divulge the lives of these nations. He connects with local families and these very photographs he collects represent their private memories; together, they paint pictures of sociological histories.
